This is my favorite Juice so far!
Ingredients:
30 red grapes
1 pint blueberries
1 handful mint
My juicer didn't handle the blueberries very well and we got a sort of slushy like juice which was actually a very happy accident. The little bits of pulp floating around were really really good.

Sunrise Juice
Ingredients:
8 carrots
4 oranges
2 beets
This one is pretty great. I like it better than the regular orange juice you buy at the store by a lot. However, I do feel like this is a direct shot of sugar into my blood stream, so that worries me a bit. Not going to make this too often.

Green Citrus Juice
Ingredients:
1 green apple
1 orange, peeled
3 big handfuls spinach
I forgot to take a picture of the ingredients. I made two batches and put them into a container. I'm doing half for lunch and then half for a snack. It kept really well. I really like this one as well, but its not as good the pear pie!

Pear Pie Delight Juice
This so far is my very favorite juice. The cinnamon really topped it off nicely. It looks bad, but boy was it tasty! It actually tasted like pear pie!
Ingredients:
1 sweet potato
1 red apple
2 pears
handful of blueberries
dash of cinnamon
The only downfall to this was all the chopping! OH THE CHOPPING! This was the most I had to chop for any juices so far. My omega juicer has a small hole to put everything in, so I had to cut the potatoes and pears and apple really small. But so worth it.

Juice #2 : Joe's mean green
For lunch was Joe's Mean Green.
3 kale leaves
.5 green apple
.25 lemon
1 cucumber
2 stalks celery
a small piece of ginger
I liked this one more than the other. It didn't have the bite and went down smoother despite having more greens. I actually really enjoy greens, even juiced.

Juice #1: Carrot Apple Ginger Juice
The first juice I made was Carrot Apple Ginger. I like this one, its really tasty. Though I may have put in a little too much ginger, it burned a little going down!
Ingredients:
2 apples
3 carrots (mine were small so I used 4)
1 inch ginger root

Starting the first day
The Omega Juicer arrived yesterday! I rushed to put it together, and boy does it look sleek!
When Ransom got home, I made some juice for a late dinner, pear and carrot, and it tasted awesome! I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was and how well it juiced everything. The pulp was a little moist, but from what I remember of my old Breville Compact Juicer, it was much drier. The Breville was also much much louder, I was able to run this in the morning and not be worried about waking the neighbors.
I weighed in today at 158 lbs and took a before picture, depending on the after picture, I may post it. I'll post later with my review of my day's juices! Made my boyfriend the Carrot Apple Ginger juice for breakfast before he left for work. I'll make mine later. Already started in on doing five minute morning yoga and had my hot water with lemon. I'm going to walk to the store and get some herbal teas later for work and home. I can do this!

The Mission and Preparation
THE MISSION: 5 days of juice fasting
I have been wanting to do a juice fast for years, and I finally decided that now is the time. I'm super excited, but also nervous because I know this is going to be the hardest thing I've done in a long time.
I'm going to use this blog to record my feelings and the reviews of the juices that I drink.
THE MOTIVATION: being healthy, $200
My boyfriend has said that he will support me and drink the juices with me and not eat when I'm around (he's lifting weights and trying to get muscle, so I can't ask him to fast entirely, he just can't eat in front of me). He has also promised to pay for half of this whole fast if I make it, which means, he'll give me around $200 after I finish day 5.
I also want to use this to get healthier, I need to start eating more fruits and vegetables and cut the junk. I'm finding it much harder than it used to be to not eat grains and junk food thank expected, and I want to use this to kick me in the right direction. If I can do this, I can do anything.
THE PLAN: Reboot with Joe
I followed up on the movie "Fat, sick and nearly dead" and found Joe Cross had a website with plans for rebooting. He recommends starting with a week of just eating fruits and vegetables, but I'm going to skip that because I already eat quite a few fruits and vegetables and want to cut off any chance for me to quit before I start.
Here's a link to the his plans: http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/rebooting/plans/
I am also a follower of Yuri Elkaim and have his juice plans as well. The reason I decided to start with Joe's is that it has more fruits and more juices and it seems like it'll be a little easier for a week because it also doesn't have any water fasting days. If I'm feeling good after a week, there is a chance that I'll jump in on Yuri's because I do believe that reducing the sugars and eating fewer fruits is ideal, but I think it's a level up from Joe's and with as hard as this is going to be, I'll start a little smaller.
THE JUICER: Omega 8004
I used to have a juicer in college, but when I moved I gave it to a good friend who I'm sure is treating it well. So it was time for me to get a new one. I bought the Omega 8004. It should be here today. I keep refreshing the tracking number to keep an eye on it, I don't want them to miss me when I'm sitting in my apartment.
So it'll look like this:
THE SHOPPING: Lots and lots of produce
Went to whole foods to get everything from Joe's list for three days. My boyfriend will be doing some of it with me, so I had to get extras for him and HOLY CRAP its a lot of food. And it was expensive as hell. We paid $130 for 3 days worth of produce.

(even Max is amazed at the amount of produce!)
So that's that, and I'll post again when I get my hands on my juicer!
